Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha Day
Upon your arrival at the serene heart of Tanzania, the city of Arusha extends a warm embrace. Maua Villa, nestled within a lush, hidden garden, provides more than just accommodation—it’s an encounter for the senses.
At Maua Villa, take the opportunity to meander through the vibrant gardens, becoming acquainted with the local flora and fauna. An evening of relaxation awaits as you’re serenaded by the gentle sounds of the night creatures, ensuring you’re well-rested for the escapades that await.
Day 2: Journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We begin with an early breakfast in Arusha, discussing the final touches of your safari plan. Shortly after, we set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, home to Tanzania’s giants—the elephants. This park is a treasure trove of wildlife, where the savannah comes alive with roaming buffalo, proud lions, and migrating wildebeests, not to mention the more elusive kudu and oryx.
In the park, you’re an observer and part of the landscape. Our game drive is a journey into the animal kingdom, guided by expertise and respect for the wild. As we traverse the park, the sheer scale of the baobabs and the endless grasslands will be your backdrop.
Ending the day, we retreat to the comforts of Maramboi Tented Lodge. You can unwind here, surrounded by nature’s vastness, sharing stories of the day’s sights and sounds. As night falls and the sky fills with stars, the true scale of Tarangire’s wild beauty becomes yours to hold. Welcome to the wild; sleep peacefully to the lullabies of the African night.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After an energising breakfast, we depart for the Serengeti, a scenic drive that unveils the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness. Within 3.5 hours, we’ll exchange the Ngorongoro highlands for the Serengeti’s iconic plains.
Post-lunch, we’ll venture on an afternoon game drive across the Serengeti. Each moment is alive with possibility—a lion’s roar, the wildebeest dance, and the leopard’s silent glide. The park’s vastness offers an ever-changing canvas of wildlife drama.
As the light softens, we’ll head back to our camp. There, under a sky painted with stars, you’ll recount the day’s wonders, the air filled with the tranquil sounds of the wild night, setting the stage for dreams of the days ahead.
Day 4: Full-Day Safari in the Serengeti
Our third day is an all-day affair with the Serengeti’s wilderness. We’ll start early after sunrise to catch the wild’s early stirrings. Today, the vast plains may reveal feelings of pride of lions or solitary leopards in their morning routines. The Serengeti’s kopjes, grand rocky outcrops, serve as nature’s skyscrapers where big cats lounge and gaze over the grasslands.
Midday, we’ll take a break with a bush lunch, an al fresco meal that lets you savour the flavours of Africa against a backdrop that shifts with the seasons. We might even spot the excellent migration march or resident grazers nearby if lucky.
As the golden hour approaches, we’ll wrap up our game drives and return to our lodging. Here, we partake in the sundowner ritual, enjoying refreshments as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of fire. The evening culminates with stories shared over dinner before we retire, with the night sounds of the Serengeti as our lullaby.
Day 5: Full-Day Safari in the Serengeti
Embark on yet another thrilling game drive through the Serengeti’s sweeping landscapes. We’ll look for the park’s famed big cats—cheetahs, leopards, and lions—each with their survival tale. As the park’s vistas evolve with the seasons, so do our safari experiences, each day distinct from the last.
Today’s route will take us to watering holes, bustling with wildlife activity, and past the Serengeti’s iconic kopjes, the towering rocks punctuating the plains. A picnic lunch amidst the wild offers a chance to dine in the company of nature’s chorus.
With fortune on our side, the day may present the awe-inspiring sight of the Great Migration: a living river of wildebeest and zebra in their timeless quest for sustenance. As the sun wanes, we return to our lodge or camp, our hearts full of the day’s encounters, ready to share tales over dinner and under the stars.
Day 6: Serengeti’s Endless Plains to the Majestic Ngorongoro Crater
With the dawn of Day 5, we set out after breakfast towards the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife haven with a concentration of animals unlike elsewhere in Africa. Descending into the crater, we’re greeted by a natural amphitheatre teeming with life, from the pride of lions to herds of zebras.
Amidst this backdrop of natural wonder, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, observing the gentle giants at play. Thanks to its fertile soil, the crater, a canvas of greenery and wildlife, promises unmatched game-viewing opportunities, including a chance to spot the rare black rhino.
As the day wanes, we ascend from the crater’s embrace, returning to the lodge for dinner. Here, on the crater’s rim, the day’s adventures segue into tranquil highland evenings, ensuring a restful night as we reflect on the majesty of Ngorongoro.
Day 7: Flight to Zanzibar
Today, we transition from the wild landscapes of the mainland to the serene shores of Zanzibar.
